Dr. Benjamin Tappan Hoxworth died January 12, 2023, following a battle with leukemia. He was 68 years old.

Ben was born on October 10, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Nancy Duncan Hoxworth and Paul Irwin Hoxworth. The youngest of three, Ben had a lively childhood attending Cincinnati Reds baseball and Ohio State football games. Following his father's example, Ben chose a career in general surgery. He completed his undergraduate degree at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati.
