I didn't really know Robbie.  But about a week before he died, we sat near each other in assembly (my memory says it was toward the back at the left, facing the stage), and he was nice to me. That's all.  He was nice, and for that reason, his memory has been a blessing to me.

I was a friend of Robby, we would go onto his house roof (3 stories high) and had a great view of the Spring Grove Cemetary.  He was without fear which I remember him most for.   I have missed him since the day he died and named one of my sons after him.

His actual name was Robert W. Elder, JR.

May he rest in peace.

I remember Robbie as being a really funny guy. He used to hang out with David Hill, Tim Abts, and Robert Martin to walk around Clifton. I don't understand why he does not have a marker at Spring Grove Cemetery. I have thought about him so much over the years, especially now that I am older, and realize that he was only 12.

Like Anne, I didn't really know Robert but he sat near me in music class and was always nice. I've always been saddened as I'd think back to his empty chair wondering what happened. He was so very young. I hope in some way he knows that more than 50 years later, he's still remembered with kindness.

Sat beside him in auditorium /study hall i guess.  We talked alot about life. The meaning of it all.  Those conversations have stuck with me for years.

Somehow, the fact that we've each thought about him all this time--55 years--is a reflection of his memory and an implicit connection among us.
