Marci S. Horwitz, 52, of Richmond, departed this life on Thursday, May 25, 2006. She is survived by her beloved husband, Louis H. Horwitz; devoted son, Matthew Joseph Horwitz; loving sister, Julie Wignall; and a lifelong circle of close friends and relatives. Marci was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and she was a graduate of the University of Pacific (B.A.), and Tulane University (M.S.W.), where she taught criminal justice for five years at Tulane before becoming the first appointed female representative of the New Orleans' Mayor's Office to the Department of Corrections. In 1980, she moved to Washington, D.C. to join her mother and sister in an international business venture, Embassies International. In 1991 she co-founded The Infinity Funding Group with her husband. However, Marci's greatest accomplishment was the ability to make people feel special. "Peace for your soul, Joy for your spirit, Love for your heart" were her gifts to all who knew her. Services will be held at 12 noon on Sunday, May 28, at the Chapel at Beth-El Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
