Rozann Stayden, 58, born December 14, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio peacefully left this world on February 24, 2012. Ms. Stayden moved to Alaska to live out the remainder of her days with her family. She graduated from Georgetown Law School, Washington D.C., in 1989. She practiced law there for the entire duration of her career.

Ms. Stayden passionately pursued life and the pursuit of justice for mankind. She chose to defend the weak, the wrongfully accused, and the oppressed. Philanthropy flowed from her heart without hesitation. During the course of her life, she traveled to Bhutan and became especially fond of the people and their culture. There she found humble people of limited means who worked diligently to better themselves and return their talents to their country for the good of all. Inspired and led by her philanthropic heart, Ms. Stayden raised 1.3 million dollars to help sponsor the education of young Bhutanese students at prestigious American educational institutions, such as Harvard, Yale, Georgetown and Smith.

An extraordinary life, a life lived extraordinarily, a woman who dined with kings and fed the poor, perhaps the words of poet Rudyard Kipling, in his poem, "IF", best describe the lessons of life acquired by Ms. Stayden while she walked this earth. In the face of injustice, she was a force to be reckoned with and in her wake, has left the world a better place.

Ms. Stayden is preceded in death by her mother, Elena; brother Julius; sister, Mary Helen. She is survived by her father, Julius; sisters-Julie, Vicki, Elizabeth, Helen, Nicole; brother - Tony; nieces - Loey, Sharla, Sara and Sheena.
