YORK, Barbara L. Backer, loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, teacher and friend, died on September 11, 2011, from complications of ALS.

Born in Cincinnati on November 17, 1954, she was a lifelong early childhood educator, most recently at the Indian Hill Church Nursery School.

She was an active member of the Presbyterian congregations her husband served as Pastor. She was also an active member of PEO.

Barbara is survived by her mother, Virginia M. Backer, Cincinnati, her husband Tom and son David of Cincinnati; brother William (Sue) Backer of Chestertown, MD; brother Donald (Beverly) of Cincinnati; many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
